Our Mission.....

The journey began in 2006 when founders Pat and Jennifer Hembree embarked on their first mission trip together to the country of Albania known as the poorest country in Europe. Little did they know that this was simply the first step towards God’s bigger purpose and plan. Soon, they would take a leap of faith that would change their lives and the future of others here and abroad forever through the launching of Legacies & Miracles in 2010.

Why We Are Here

The vision behind Legacies & Miracles rests in our first-hand experience to see how God desires to work through people’s lives to share His love and profoundly change the course of another person’s life for His glory. Our goal is to give opportunities to leave a legacy of faith to future generations by helping children reach their God-given potential.

Mission

Motivated by our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, we serve as “ambassadors for Christ” to help strengthen the future of children who otherwise would not have an opportunity to go to school and learn productive life skills. We give the most vulnerable children and their families a hope for the future by providing for their basic needs, education, and partnering with churches and individuals to encourage spiritual transformation. In conjunction with education, we help the students discover their God-given abilities and recognize that they are created for a purpose.

As Jesus went throuout the countryside preaching and teaching, many people began to follow him. We are told in Matthew 14:14 that “When he landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed the sick.” Then again, when encountering a large crowd, John records in Chapter 6 that Jesus asked his disciples “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat”. Of course He did this testing His disciples as He knew what He was about to do. Jesus then took five loaves of bread and two small fish and multiplied them miraculously to feed the entire group of 5000 people and even collected 12 baskets full of left over pieces.

The over arching reason for Jesus’ ministry on earth was to testify to the truth, lead all men to a saving knowledge of Himself, and ultimately be crucified for our sins; he met the needs of each individual with love and compassion as he carried out His purpose and His plan.

While the immediate need that Legacies and Miracles seeks to meet on an individual basis is centered around providing quality education for those who otherwise could not attend a public or private school, the overarching vision is to spread the love of Christ and share the message of salvation with each program recipient who in turn will have the opportunity to carry the Gospel Message to countless others as they become successful in life and share their amazing story.

in John chapter 9, we read that Jesus and his disciples came across a man who had been blind from birth. His disciples asked him…”Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus responded “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,… but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life”.

The overall vision and purpose for the Legacies and Miracles foundation is to meet the education needs of each recipient so that the “Work of God might be displayed” in his or her individual life. Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:40…“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Legacies and Miracles, Inc. seeks to fullfill this call and glorify God by changing the world one life at a time.

Core Values

Compassion:

First and foremost, we are inspired by the example Jesus gave us to meet
the needs of the “least of these” and demonstrate His unconditional love for all people through our sponsorship of children in need who have a desire to overcome their circumstances and live a victorious life in Christ. We serve as His conduit of love.

Integrity:

We recognize that we are stewards of everything God has given us, and our utmost priority is to reflect Him with excellence in everything we do and say for His glory. All of our resources are His—every penny—and we maintain accountability to foster trustworthiness.

Faith:

Faith is not necessary when we know how things are going to work out—that’s knowledge. It’s in the time of unknowing that having faith gives us hope and strength for the next step. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Perseverance:

Just as Christ never gives up on us, we desire to develop an on-going relationship with those involved in the ministry—both the donor and the recipient …To press on through life’s trials and celebrate the triumphs that are each inevitable.

Discipleship:

We provide a means to help students and their families experience God’s grace and to live a life of victory in His abundant life. We value relationships and provide a mutual blessing of encouragement through the power of God’s Word and prayer. In conjunction with education, we help children discover their God-given abilities and recognize that they are created for a purpose.

Prayer:

Before we ever move forward with a decision or action, everything is committed to prayer. We believe that there is power in prayer and that our first endeavor is to seek God’s wisdom, guidance, protection, and provision for each person who gives and receives through Legacies& Miracles.

Worship:

Worship is recognizing God’s greatness and glory, and in response, expressing honor, pleasure, and praise to Him. Everything we do is for God’s glory and His alone. Our prayer is that God does something so great through us that only He can get the credit.

Fence & Solar Lights

In 2017, a mission team traveled to Uganda, Africa to spend a week doing construction work and conducting after-school Bible teaching with over 400 students at the School. Among other projects, the team set out to install solar panels and solar lights in 7 separate buildings.

.In addition, the team dug 58 post holes as we worked alongside the Ugandan workers to install a perimeter fence around the school.

Needs At The School

It is truly exciting to see the rapid growth and the enthusiasm at the primary school in eastern Uganda. In just a few years, the school has doubled in enrollent and the village and surrounding community can't help but take notice at God's great work as multiple classrooms buildings and dormitories have been constructed..

Listed below are some of the current needs for the
school and church:
